Cafés y tapas SAMOA in Redondela offers a relaxed spot where locals and visitors alike can settle in for a meal or an afternoon coffee with a distinctly Galician feel. Situated on Paseo da Xunqueira, this café-restaurant-bar hybrid blends casual dining with a lively, approachable atmosphere that fits comfortably into the neighborhood's rhythm, whether you're wrapping up a day on the Camino or just stopping by for a chat over tapas.

The menu ranges from traditional Spanish snacks like patatas bravas and ensaladilla rusa to heartier options such as hamburguesa Samoa or dorada a la plancha, so it's adaptable for a quick snack or a fuller meal. Café con churros stands out as a preferred pick, especially for those who appreciate something sweet paired with their coffee. Customers often mention that portions are generous and presented hot, making it a dependable place for satisfying, unpretentious fare.

Service here consistently draws positive remarks, with attentive and friendly staff who offer sensible recommendations and a genuine warmth that can make the experience feel more personal. This is a spot where language isn’t a barrier—several servers speak English sufficiently, making international guests feel at ease.

Drinks, including a notably good sangria, complement the food well and add to the inviting bar vibe, making it suitable for evening gatherings or a casual post-walk refreshment. The environment is welcoming without being noisy or rushed, making it an easy place to relax whether dining solo, with friends, or with family.

Visitors walking the Camino find SAMOA practical and flexible, particularly when choosing from the a la carte menu rather than set pilgrim menus. This flexibility adds a nice touch of individuality for travelers used to more standard fare elsewhere.

Overall, Cafés y tapas SAMOA serves best as a comfortable stop for anyone looking to enjoy straightforward, well-prepared Spanish dishes with friendly service in a setting where locals and travelers can share a simple meal or drink without pretense. It’s a reliable spot for mid-afternoon coffee breaks, lunchtime meals, or casual evening drinks in Redondela.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was yum but the real star of the show was our waiter Santiago who was absolutely fantastic. So helpful, friendly and enthusiastic in his job. Really made us enjoy the experience and he had great recommendations. Pay him more.

Ordered their croquettes, salad and spicy pork bites, which were all terrific, although I found the croquettes a little dry on the inside, but my husband enjoyed it. Loved the churros dipped in creamy decadent hot chocolate! But what is the best about this place is their service. We had a lovely young man serving us that night who spoke pretty good English, and he was fantastic, from his recommendations to wine selection to his conversations with us.

This place is a cool spot. If you are a pilgrim on The Camino, there might be a set menu which is...well...blah That being said, if you ask them you want to order from their a la carte options and you will pay more, they will give you whatever you want. Drinks are great, Food was great. Service was superb!

The food is good. It’s a fun place to eat after a long day walking. It’s very interesting that everyone who orders a cold drink is given a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and chips. If you order a hot drink you are given a plate of hot churros AND a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. If you order a mixed drink they also give you a serving of candy. We had Pizza, Calamari and some mushrooms.

We had lunch menu for 13 euros including drink, we chose sangria which was very refreshing and not too sweet. You can choose from several first and 2nd meals and desserts. Very good value for the money.
